Please count me in... I'm waitlisted too.
Do you think sending another recommendation from successful alumni helps?
I'm really nervous right now.

If that person knows you well, has worked with you, and can attest to your strengths and weaknesses, then go ahead and ask for a recommendation

If you're asking just because the person is a Wharton alum and you've spoken to them once, their letter might not yield the result you want.

I don't know, I'm on the fence about this one. They specifically say not to submit anything else and I read this admittedly old and random seeming site that made it seem like a bad idea not to follow directions: https://hbsguru.com/blog/2007/12/20/whar ... st-advice/

Specifically this part: The waitlisted applicant’s first rule? Follow instructions. If a school says they don’t want to receive supplemental materials, don’t send them. Admissions Director Thomas Caleel is very clear about Wharton’s “no additional materials” waitlist policy, but says that every year, some applicants still send additional information anyway. “I don’t view that positively,” he says. “There’s a lot of other people who have followed the instructions, and so why would we give preference to someone who doesn’t?”

This was 6 years ago though so who knows. If your Wharton alum is a big wig (on the board or something) then maybe go for it. But I'm not sure about just a regular person. If you do do it, maybe have then start the recommendation off by saying you don't know they are doing this but they just feel so compelled to let them know how great you are. Ha!

I'm thinking of doing yet another campus visit... i didn't get a chance to sit through a class last time.. so I figured i'd do that too.. Any input on if this is a good or a bad idea?

I've got an email from Wharton saying that they are reviewing WL R1 along with R2 applications.
We will start hearing from them soon.

Anyone heard anything from Wharton yet? :|

I looked through last year's waitlist thread and it looks like 98% of people heard on the March 30th date, not before. So I'm not expecting to hear anything until that date. But I guess every year is different!

Also with regards to the previous question about visiting campus. It definitely can't be a bad thing. The only think I don't know is whether they actually record a class visit and put it in your file. I visited back in april, so before the application season even started, but I don't remember really giving them much information about me. But I will say that when I visited, a guy in my info session was on the waitlist and asked if there was anything he could do. The student leading the info session asked if he'd arranged a time to meet with the adcom and said it wouldn't hurt to ask. I don't know if the guy actually got a meeting and I'd imagine now when they're actively reviewing applications (as opposed to april when they're pretty much done) it would be highly unlikely, but just figured I'd throw that out there.

The WL process is really torturing, I wish I could hear anything before the beginning of March.
So I won't have to pay for Kellogg to save a seat!

There's no update from Wharton, right?

So I just noticed that March 30th is a Saturday, the 29th is Good Friday. Looks like Rnd 2 decisions come out on Tuesday March 26th. I'm guessing that is when we'll hear our next bit of news...

Curious to hear how the WL applicants thought they did on their interview? Wanted to see how much you think it counts in the admission process. I had mine today and it didn't go as well as I had hoped, so I am quite nervous.

I thought I did really well on the TBD, although I also felt like it was really hard to differentiate people using the TBD, everyone came across as strong in my group. Although one uncertainty was that I didn't agree with the direction we decided to go so I sort of ended up being the
devil's advocate in a way, not sure if that came across as me not being a team player. But I thought that everything I said was valid and certainly tried to say it while still supporting what we were doing. My one-on-one, however, I thought was TERRIBLE. I really wasn't expecting it to be so unstructured so I sort of blabbed and probably made no sense. Certainly did not do anything to help myself there. Left the experience feeling good about the TBD, but like I blew it since the one-on-one was so bad.

If it is the TBD you are nervous about, I wouldn't be, I really don't see how they can differentiate people based on that, I more think it's to weed out people who act like jerks, don't have strong english skills, or are too shy to speak.
