and how i can improve my prep on SC from now on.
Thanks for ur opinion in advance.
Dear gmatverbalPrep:
Well,
MGMAT SC is one of the finest sources in print. You "finished reading" it. Does this mean you understood and remember everything in that book? At what level is your understand of that book? What additional steps would you have to take to improve your recall of what's in that book? On the issue of understanding, here's a blog you may find thought-provoking
https://magoosh.com/gmat/2012/understand ... rformance/That book is an absolute treasure mine. Don't consider yourself "finished" with it until you absolutely own everything in it.
A second recommendation I would make is: don't think of the focus on grammar & syntax & usage as limited to SC. Read every day, and pay attention to grammar & syntax & sentence structure in what you read. Every day, practice parsing sentences --- that is, identifying each and every grammatical component --- from high-quality reading material. Also, as much as possible, make everything you write as polished and professional as possible. For example, consider the quality of the writing in the post above. Would you want a B-school admission team to judge you on the quality of this writing? Strive to hold all your own writing up to the highest bar possible. Every sentence you write should be a SC exercise in and of itself.
BTW, one of the best ways to prepare for the Verbal is to read high-quality material every day. Here's a post about this:
