Guys, there's still hope! My app went under review in November and I got my invite this week. As @mbaBoston2012 mentioned a few pages back, there are times open through the end of February, which likely means more invites will be rolling out over the next couple of weeks.

Also, does anyone know what the acceptance rate is after interview?

Did you get an e-mail saying that they were reviewing you application? If so, how long ago?

Yes I did. A loooooong time ago on Nov 29th. Since then I have seen straight dings, interview invites, acceptances and waitlists so I don't even know what to think anymore.

Has anyone received a brochure from Stern? I applied in Round1 on 15th November and am still waiting to hear from them. Today i received a brochure from Stern. Just wanted to check if everyone who applied received it or if only people who are invited for interview received it

If you applied and weren't already in their database, then they send you a brochure. Receiving a mailed brochure (or not) has no bearing on your invite status/admissions decision.

Anyone who has interviewed since 1/14 get an update from the admissions committee? Haven't seen any activity since some folks were admitted last Tuesday.

I'm in the same boat, with a recent R1 interview waiting.

To be fair they said 3-4 weeks, but like you guys I saw everyone the prior week had an answer within 7 days.

Probably working on R2 apps as well now, so slower to answer.

Congrats to all the admits!! Any advice for the interview? I haven't yet interviewed with an adcom member this year. How does it differ from one with a 2Y (generally speaking since I know all Stern interviews are done through adcom)?

I have only had adcom interviews so far, but it was pretty straight forward.

Clear Admit has tons of posts on questions asked, so I had reviewed those, they are pretty standard and mostly variations of the same question set. Adcom joked with me a bit, and then went through the questions, took about 40 minutes (probably I was too longwinded).

They have read your application, and had my resume in front of them. (only one interviewer).

Questions were roughly:

1. Resume Walkthrough
2. Why MBA and Why Stern
3. Challenge story, teamwork story, leadership story
4. Few questions about essays, specifically Essay 3.
5. Questions for them.

I think as long as you are prepare as you would for any interview, you should be fine.

Best of luck.

I will say, don't forget your transcript! I did and they said it would delay things which was fine, but it's been 2 weeks since my transcript was mailed and they still haven't processed it because it's probably stuck in a pile of Rnd 2 mail. In 5th grade a girl in my glass begged our English teacher for our grammar tests back, to which our teacher replied "um, [insert name here], you got an F". After witnessing that I swore to never beg for a result again. I feel like that now, don't want to push too hard for my decision and then get a ding. But seeing all of these people who interviewed way after me get their decisions is killing me!

Also with regards to the interview, I found it to be very relaxed and easy flowing. I think it was easier because the interviewer had read my app so she didn't really even have me walk her through my goals or work experience. She more asked me questions like "what do you like about your current job". Some others I remember:

- What is your back-up plan if you don't get into business school or job you want
- What would be your ideal company to intern for
- What clubs would you be involved in at Stern, how would you make your mark
- Obviously, Why Stern

I was impressed by how much she remembered from my app, a lot questions would start with a reference from my app and then build. So definitely review your app before the interview and know what you said! Good luck!

Hey Krest19 -- first and foremost, congrats!

I'm also interviewing then -- I talked with a few former and current students who attended in the past, and they highly recommended leveraging this day rather than scheduling an earlier interview date. I understand that there is ample opportunity to connect with students, alumni and admissions officers, but haven't heard much about the formal structure of the day.

Regarding acceptance rate after interviews -- on the NYU website, it says anywhere from 20-25% of applicants are interviewed. Using last year's admission rate of 16% as a baseline, that would mean that your chances of getting in after receiving an interview invite fall between 60- 80%.
