The only consideration being success probability
(I understand and an aware about the differences in terms of option of internship being there in Jan and not there in Sep rounds)

I attended an information session at INSEAD singapore recently. This question was asked and response was "there is absolutely no differnece in round 1 or round 3 at INSEAD unlike US colleges". You've exactly same chance of success in any round at INSEAD.

I disagree a bit with this point of view. Overall there is no difference. That is, the acceptance rate is the same across rounds. I agree with this and Insead is being 100% honest about it.

But this does not mean, that every candidate has the same chances in every round. In R3, Insead will make sure that a number of candidates are accepted so that the acceptance rate is constant, but those accepted will be chosen according to how they will complement those admitted in R1 and R2.

Hey guys, thanks for sharing the info...so in terms of %of students given final admission is relatively same across all three rounds, however the profile might create differences

@Ducksworth:
I did my udergrad in engineering (Btech, IIT)...worked as an analyst in an Indian investment bank (M&A) for ~1.5 years before starting my own venture (for ~2 years)...GMAT - 720 (on downside my gpa is not too good at an undergrad level)

post mba looking to join a VC

any suggestions which one should i prefer between r3 for september or r1 for jan

Thanks

Your profile is not massively different to many other applicants. Actually, there are already quite a few admitted to Insead with a profile like yours. If you can, I would wait for R1 Jan.

Still, it is a very good profile...

Hi,

I am with Vips0000. Equal weightage is given to all the candidates applying in R-1 or R-3. You can try your chances in b-schools by clicking https://www.general-ed.com/chances-of-bschool . Also, let me know more about yourself (GMAT, GPA, work-Ex, ECs, acads, achievements, post-MBA career etc.)

Feel free to post any other concerns you might have.

Cheers!!
Neha
