Congratulations again, Marcab! 720 is no joke, and I normally don't think that a 720 warrants a retake. But MacFauz has a point: after all of your contributions here, you certainly deserve something even higher. The world would be a better place if the GMAT computers could sense awesomeness, and inflate your score accordingly.

For whatever it's worth, I always drink Red Bull during my exams. I don't necessarily recommend it for everybody, but I'm bummed that it made your bladder unhappy during the test. :smoke

But still... be proud of that 720, sir! Great work, and thank you for the debrief.

Congrats Marcab for such a nice score (720) in 1st attempt. I would like to ask few question & your feedback on the same. I hope you wouldn't mind answering those.

Q1) Can you reveal the breakup of 720 (Q-?, V-?)
Q2) What was the difficulty level of IR on real test vs IR of other test prep companies. In your opinion which company closely mimics the real IR toughness level?
Q3) Were the toughest quant questions that appeared on real test tougher than the 700+ question on GMAT club?

Q4) Can you tell us what was the breakup (in terms of no of questions) of Verbal section:
a)No of RC Passages & App no of total questions
b)No of CR questions
c)No of SC question

Q5) What was the difficulty level of RC, CR, SC on real test vs RC, CR, SC of other test prep companies. In your opinion which companies closely mimics the real RC, CR, SC toughness level?

Waiting eagerly for your wise words.

Fame

Ans-1) Q-49 V 38

Ans-2) Regarding the difficulty of IR, I can make no comment. Reason- I am still to get IR score. But as far as my personal opinion is concerned, I can firmly say that I didn't found them to be very difficult. In fact I used it for my advantage, a pre-source for Quant and Verbal section.

Ans-3) I found some of them tough. But that didn't stress me because I knew that I can do some questions very quick, so compensation can be made for some time lost while doing hard questions.

Ans-4 a) 4 passages and 14 questions overall.
b) and c) CR and SC had almost even split.

Ans-5) I feel, VeritasPrep RC is quite similar in the kind of questions and passages to the real thing. The real SC thing CANNOT be copied. Just practice the official ones. GMATPrep quant pack 1's CR level is quite similar to that of the real thing.

Hope I answered your questions.
Regards.

I haven't thought of when to retake. But I will make sure that I keep myself active on this forum till my second take. But for sometime now, I will be looking to get in a relationship. Being single on valentines day is like carrying a Blackberry without a BBM. :-D
I have not thought about when to apply. Once I feel ready, I will apply. Not to forget, score is valid for 5 years.

Yeah I think you should take it slow too!
You just might end up facing a question "why the heck did you retake after scoring 720?"
and end up talking about it in this thread!
stupidest-thing-you-interviewer-have-said-in-an-interview-61886-20.html

BTW, I will give you a scoop.
Reliable sources say GMATClub has a VERY optimistic gender diversity :-)

Thanks so much for the compliment!

I am looking for a cute bass player who adores Flea and does not like Kurt Cobain.
Any matches?

@Marcab — Any tips for Quant? Are the real-GMAT quant questions very similar to GMATPrep?

Marcab, I think you've just created a monster.

One of my favorite female students has agreed to be the first test subject for the GMAT Ninja dating service. She and I have been joking about it for awhile, and I think it would be fun to actually give it a shot.

Mods, would it be OK to start a matchmaking thread somewhere on GMAT Club? If so, where? Maybe under "general GMAT strategies," since dating might make you happy and therefore increase your score... or at least distract you from the pain of a bad score? There doesn't seem to be much traffic in the "off-topic" section of the forum...
