Darden (Virginia) 2013 - Calling All Applicants!

Hi,

I received my interview invite with a darden alumni on13th feb. It was mentioned that i would hear from an alumni within 10 business day, but I have not heard anything so far, Should I drop a mail to darden mentioning the same or wait till 10 Business day get over. Anyone in a similar situation?

I am an international applicant and applied in Jan round.I have not heard anything from Darden yet.
Does anybody have idea if they are still sending interview invites?

Had my interview yesterday. Did an off-campus interview with an adcom. Like most people, mine started off with the adcom telling me its a blind interview and to tell my life story. I got carried away and just went through everything that she mentioned I covered all but one question she was hoping to ask. She asked me about what would I be doing 15-20 years after Darden, which is way ahead of long term goal in my opinion. We had some conversation on that topic before she asked if I had questions of my own.

For those who interviewed on campus, did anyone attend a class? If so, what did you find helpful, would you mind sharing? I'm interviewing next week, but all the class visit spots are filled.

It may be worth calling to see if you can squeeze in a class, or just showing up early for one of the class times and asking the admissions office. It was extremely helpful to see the case method in action and a great thing to reference in your interview.

The class I went to was an econ class, and the case was on tariffs. Professor was excellent, he guided the conversation really well. A small minority of students seemed disinterested, but most of the class was engaged and involved in the discussion. Allowing computers seemed at times distracting, but there weren't too many people typing, plus I can also see the benefit of computers (the guy in front of me was a OneNote pro). The classrooms themselves are pretty typical: stadium seating in a half-circle, projector, and chalkboards. The students were very welcoming, and the prospectives had to play a game at the beginning of class

I'll echo the others here: you can probably sneak your way into a class. In my class, there were two people who hadn't signed up for the class visit, but sat on steps or in the back during class. Just ask the receptionist/host in the morning.

Interviewed today on-campus. Adcom. Went through the usual flow, tell me your story and why MBA and Darden, overall 35 min. He asked me only two follow up questions, and did not interrupt me the entire time I was speaking. I wonder if my story was so complete that he did not need to ask any, or he wasn't interested. Oh well, the wait begins...

Has anyone looked through last year's thread to see if it was similar? Seems like interviews are trickling out soooo slowlyyyy

I think that the last interview invitation was received on Feb 20th for the 2012 admissions cycle. Realistically, this is probably the last week that we can expect interview invites. After that its probably waitlist or deny.

Well that's slightly discouraging. Come onnnn Darden.

Keep in mind that the Rd 2 notification date in the 2012 admissions cycle was 28 March. Nevertheless, keep your hopes up!

I've got an invitation (Skype) just before the weekend, and there were some more slots available. Maybe a couple of days, 4-5 slots each, although I don't know if they interview 1 person per slot or this is a parallel process led by several adcom members.

In fact, my interview date is just a few days before the decision deadline! So I wouldn't get desperate. If there are some people interviewed on 11-13 March, then you still can get an invitation for these dates. I'd be worried if you don't get one till 12th or so though.

as per stats on page 1, only 19 have been invited to interview. i believe there are still some invites left
