the main problem with B is that two modifiers are lying side by side when either can make sense with the subject of the clause "james cameron" .for instance : "in his movies , james ....." or "meticulously integrating them,james cameron .." .OG has shown such side by side placement of modifiers wrong unless they are placed such that only only is making sense with the subject or the other way to solve this is to place subject in the middle of the two modifiers

'Understanding' in the context is a gerund,an 'ing' form of noun. It is parallel with skills, another noun. There is no need to parallel it with the verb 'banked'

This question is a trap for people who are unaware of the fact that a subject cannot lie inside a prepositional phrase.

"them" used in three of the five options can't refer to the "movie scenes" since "movie scenes" lies inside a prepositional phrase.

This leaves us with just 2 options and one of them has modifier error (option D). This leaves us with the answer - C

I personally feel that the answer is wrong. Is it logical in any way to say that JC banked on xyz in his movie scenes. This is an illogical meaning because it says that "in the movie scenes" JC banked on...

The meaning is right and in the end Cameron is placed completing the sentence with the right meaning

This gives us the meaning as though James Cameron was being integrated hence out
