Congratulations! How long after being notified via email did you get the letter?

Less than a week. Maybe 3-4 days.

Wow. Nice! Which faculty member? What are your thoughts on schools at this point?

Batia Wiesenfeld

If I get the Consortium fellowship at Tuck, I will probably go there. I like NYU a lot, and I was honest when I told them I would choose NYU over Columbia given the choice, but Tuck will probably work better for my family. Students at Stern give me the "I want to party in NYC" vibe and that is perfectly understandable, but it just seemed like partners weren't as important at Stern as they are at Tuck. I'm getting married soon and I'd like a community where my wife will feel welcome as well. Tuck made her feel very welcome.

Stern students definitely seem much nicer than Columbia students. Columbia students gave me a bad vibe. I guess it's the difference between Columbia and NYU. Columbia is a self-contained fortress in Manhattan. NYU is part of Manhattan. As a native New Yorker, I like NYU's approach to the city much more.

Just got the email. Logging into the portal and THEN clicking another link to view the status letter was incredibly stressful, but it turns out I got in, so I just breathed the world's biggest sigh of relief. Basically spent the week completely miserable because I thought I blew the interview. Just to give the timeline:

Submitted: 1/15
Invited: 2/25
Interviewed: 3/5
Admitted: 3/12

Congrats! I interviewed on 3/7 and am now obsessively checking. I was kind of hoping they had batch uploaded the ones from last week, but alas, they did not. I haven't received an email or anything. I'm just being neurotic.

I'm in the same boat, interviewed on 3/7 as well. Hopefully we hear good news soon!

Has anyone received an interview invite recently? I am just wondering whether the rest of us R2 candidates that did not receive any info yet should call it a day. I am international candidate from Europe.

Same with me. The off-campus interviews for my location are on Monday.. So guess it's the end of the road for me......

Had my off campus interview yesterday. Pretty simple & short.

For Delhi they are interviewing on 3 days; sun/mon & tue. In total 21 people being interviewed. I noticed one from Qatar rest are indians.

For Stern it makes sense for internationals to apply in R1 unless you are prepared to go to NY to interview. I don't think they are gonna come again in 2 months for R2.

Was the pattern similar to the on-campus interviews described on clearadmit and I am guessing it would have been with the adcom only, right?

to current Sternies, how many people waive out of core courses?

fyi a caveat waiving out of classes at stern...
first off, their core is divided in 2... 1. they have 2 required core courses (stats/accounting) and 2. a pick 5 of 7 courses option from their menu core.

aside from 1. passing out of stats/accounting (required core)

for 2. the menu core you'd have to waive out of at least 3 menu core courses from the menu core to make room for 1 elective. ie if you waive out of two menu core you still have the other 5 to take. you get credit for the class and can take higher level electives but passing out does not count towards your 5 unless you pass out of 3 or more. ie if you pass out of 1 or 2 menu core classes, you still have 5 to take regardless.

Hi AJUnited,

I also had my interview in Delhi today afternoon, I am a R2 applicant who got an option to do an off-campus so I think they are doing both of them together.

One Question : How long was your interview :?: mine was pretty short (20 mins). I think it's a bad sign :( - coming all the way to India for a 20 min interview is something that does not make much sense

Hi Saurabh,

The questions were pretty standard (for my short interview/chat); Noting out of the ordinary at all

NOW THE WAIT.... :|

Don't worry abt it. The guy before me had a similar 20-25 mins one. I had in the same range as well.Yes the questions are pretty standard.

With Stern, its a bit different, they invite few ppl ~around 20-25% for interview. So they send out offers to relatively high percentage among interviewed candidates.
