Ok cool. I figured as much. I am going to wait for the WL to play out... meanwhile I'll keep myself busy trying to figure out Booth vs Kellogg. Sounds like the earliest there's any activity on the WL is in May. Agonizing!

Important dates coming up:

April 25th: Round 2 Admitted Student Decision Deadline

May 15th: Round 3 Admission Decisions

I'm guessing we'll hear something from Dana soon after 4/25? Just a little longer...

I was waitlisted in Round 2 and receive the email that all of the waitlisted folks received today. I just wanted to check that I read it correctly. Sounds like one of two things will happen to us tomorrow: 1) we could receive an email from HBS that "releases" or officially rejects us OR 2) we don't receive anything and we remain on the waitlist. Was that your impression as well?

Any Round 2 applicants get admitted yet off the waitlist? Did you receive a phone call? I wonder how many have come off the waitlist already...

Hi. Yes, I got that email too. We are both hoping for no email from HBS tomorrow.

No emails here either. I'm Round 2 here--maybe they just released primarily Round 1 people to put them out of their 5-month misery? That would seem like a sensible course of action.

I am a Round 1 WL (WL-ed post-interview in Round 1) and I didn't receive any email update but if you go into your portal and check you'll see they reposted the same letter from 12/12/12 (I guess for Round 2 folks it may be the same letter as 3/26 - or whenever that release date was).

For me, during the AM yesterday the letter had gone away, then was reposted at noon (when, presumably, the Round 3 decisions were released). I'd venture to say that if you didn't receive a "release" email yesterday, and if the letter on your login portal is the same as the 3/26 or 12/12/12 one, then you are still on the WL post-cuts.

I am a Round 2 waitlisted applicant who did not receive the email yesterday either. I emailed Dana and she confirmed that the "release' email went out at noon. So, the wait goes on...

I mean it is quite possible that those on the WL dedicated enough to join a forum and continue pursuing the opportunity might not be a representative mix of all WL applicants... therefore we can't deduce the "release" percentage given the small sample size (~5 of us?) that we are using.

I didn't receive the email either, so that makes 6 of us and none that did. Dana's email made it sound like a large number were being released, so it still seems kind of funny.

I emailed Dana back to ask if she is able to tell me how many people remain on the waitlist. I haven't heard back yet, but will let you know what I hear. The list was at about 180 before Round 3. My guess is that at least 80-100 people are still on the waitlist. If that is the case, six of us may noy be that many...

Well, even if they shortened it by 80, that would shorten a WL of 180 by ~44% or 4/9. So if there are 6 of us on here who didn't receive the email, and our chances of getting released were 4/9, then the odds of all 6 of us making it through would be 5/9^6 or 2.9%. Not very likely. Maybe I did this wrong...
