I am sitting outside the Siteman Dining Room, on the banks of the Charles river, across from the glassy Hancock Tower, enjoying the first truly warm day of Spring. More importantly, I am listening into bits and pieces of conversations in at least seven different languages (by my count so far) on the topics of homework, startup revenues, chart models, and $6 pitchers of beer. Although I live right across the river from Sloan, the campus visit activities organized by Ambassadors Program let me taste a richer, deeper flavor of MIT Sloan.
In short, I really enjoyed meeting some of the students and was impressed with the diversity very apparent on campus. The staff and faculty were very welcoming, hopefully an indicator of full time students’ experience. I also learned some interesting things about the application process and student life. Finally, the class visit was interesting, but perhaps not representative of the class’ normal modus operandi (and lacking in comparison to Harvard’s Class Visit – will post that later this week).
