I am applying for HEC Paris MBA 2014 jan intake.
Submitted my package at 30th of December 2012, received an email from HEC saying that they have well received my application package.

Now waiting for the next step: preselection.

Will be happy if we can share the admission progress information and wait together.

My profile: 11y WE (6y WE in Europe), asian, female, GMAT 690, IELTS 8.0

Although I applied for the part time option, I believe the full time option is the choice for most of people, so I copy the full time application deadlines here:

I had not paid much attention but heard some issues of the Jan session. If you have option then go for mainstream session.

Search in google and you will get enough information of Jan session compared to Sep session.

So i finished the two interviews last week. Both very interesting.
Now I am waiting for the result...

Sorry I don't have such info.
I didn't compare different schools, since I will stay in France due to personal reasons..

I heard that this kind of info will be available in the HEC intranet, maybe some current students will be able to provide.

Industry 41%

Thanks.

I spent quite some time on the essays, it was a way for myself to be very clear about why I want to go for a MBA.
For me, out of the 6 HEC MBA essays, the first three are more important, you explain why MBA and Why HEC here.

As for the interviews, it was rather relaxing and easy, they just want to make sure you know what you are doing: again why MBA, why HEC?
Both of the interviewers asked me one question: why not insead? :D

I have sent out my application for 2014 Jan intake before the end of March. But I have only been told that the application was complete. Still no further information on interview. Is that normal?

Hello

Yes it is totally normal.

I submitted my application at 31st of Dec. 2012, and received from HEC:
- application completion confirmation email at 3rd of Jan, 2013
- pre-selection email at 15th of Jan.
- interview details email at 17th of Jan.
- final decision email at 7th of Feb.

So after two weeks of your submission, if you have still not received any further email, you can send them an email to ask for the progress.

Congratulations!

For the interview presentation, choose one topic that you are familiar with and passionate about. It could be linked with your work or with your hobbies.
You can check the profiles of your interviewers, to see if you can find some common points or interests.

I picked one topic not really linked with my current job, but more with my post-MBA plan.

However, don't forget the preparation on the usual "Why MBA" & "Why HEC" questions. My interviewers were more focused on those parts.

Well done and good luck with your interviews! Remember to have clear reasons to show your motivation to pursue an MBA (and an MBA from HEC in particular) and make sure you give an interesting presentation (i.e. not a boring one).
