Hi,

I had my first round of interviews.. and I believe a couple of others have also got the interview calls.. any idea how long it usually takes before they call for 2nd round.. do they inform us via emails or phones if they reject us?
haven't heard back from them since the 1st round of interview...

Anyone know what kind of questions they ask you in the interview? Getting antsy waiting for the call. Might as well start prepping!

MBA student from HKUST who graduated last year and now working at HK - if anyone wants to know more about the program or the HK job market, feel free to pm me or post on the thread. I will try my best to answer. Kindly do not ask me to evaluate your profile as I cannot/will not judge candidate profiles.

Thanks Aviroop!

I'm very interested in attending HKUST assuming I get in (submitted my app already). Can you please let us know, from your perspective, what are some of the strengths and weaknesses of the school? If you don't mind, can you please share a little bit about your background and tell us about your experience at HKUST and life in Hong Kong in general (as a student and now as a part of the workforce?) Greatly appreciated!

Re: HKUST 2014 Calling all applicants! [#permalink]
I had an interview which was honestly a bit unpleasant. I thought the interviewer, who is a current student, was a bit rude. I had anticipated specific questions about my application and essays, but the interviewer asked me questions by taking bits and pieces out of my essay and not the full idea behind what I was trying to express. I am not sure he even read my essays entirely, which led to questions that didn't make much sense. There were a number of occasions which the way the interviewer asked questions made me felt uneasy. Such as "I don't understand what you did in your previous jobs, can you explain?" I think he really meant to say "Could you tell me about your previous jobs?". I am really disappointed by the interview, because I do believe interviews are opportunities for both parties to learn about each other, and this interview gave me a very poor image of HKUST.

Dear Aviroop,

I am doing a family business in Garments. Could you share more about family business and entrepreneurship courses? What support does HKUST develop students in this area of interest? Thank you!

Hi, I just joined the GMAT club. Applied to HKUST and have finished 2 rounds of interviews. Any word on R1 decisions? This thread doesn't seem to be as active as last year's.
