Hi!
I had 2 GMAT test attempts: 650 (Q48 V32) in the first time (in January 2013) and then 700 in the second time (in April 2013). More interesting is how I practiced for the 2nd attempt:
30th of March: MGMAT CAT 1A (i.e. taking
MGMAT 1 for the second time) = 670 (Q44 V37)
6th of April: MGMAT CAT 2A = 640 (Q44 V34)
13th of April: MGMAT CAT 3A = 650 (Q45 V34)
I was very upset with my verbal results, because from past experience I knew that
MGMAT Q44 was something about Q48 in real test (at least for me this correlation was definetely true). So I decided to check myself:
14th of April: GMAT Club free Verbal test (not adaptive) = Verbal 32
After that I almost lost hope for better result in real test 2nd attempt... I decided not to postpone the real test because I already had about 6 months of preparation and 1 attempt and didn't have much willing to continue this life style
But frankly speaking after that Verbal 32 in Gmat Club questions I stopped and looked back: I identified that most verbal mistakes were coming from couple of topics (thanks to
MGMAT which allows to make convenient analysis of topics of wrong answers). Within a week I focused on that topics at maximum possible extent (Comparisons and Parallelisms in SC, Weaken & Strenghten questions in CR).
20th of April: Official GMAT Practice Test 2, 3rd !!! attempt = 710 (Q49 V38).
24th of April: Real Test 2nd attempt = 700 (Q48 V38)
700 is not that high for many applicants but for me it is better to stop at this point and save time for TOEFL and applications.
I am writing this review because:
1. I am grateful to GMAT Club members,
MGMAT, my tutor who prepared me for the 1st attempt test and my friends who already went through this road for valuable feedback and help in my preparation
2. I couldn't get precise information of how
MGMAT is matched with real GMAT test. Now this question is closed for me:
MGMAT Q44 = approx. real test Q 48,
MGMAT Verbal is not much different from real test Verbal, but personally for me
MGMAT Verbal is a bit harder (2-4 points).
I wish you every success!
