Bono

Thanks for your offer to help applicants....

Yale is my target school but i dont have any community work-ex and not interested in the Public sector which yale strongly believes in....

Does Yale adcom look favourably on applicants like me??

Any inputs highly appreciated

NK
PS: Main reason why i am interested in yale was the chance to learn some thing about LAW from the famous Yale Law School..I was always interested in the LAW(not as a full-time ) but some sort of cross Learning

In the second year at Yale, you can take as many as seven electives, which may be selected from the wide range of advanced-level course offerings at Yale SOM or from courses in other schools and departments at Yale University. One of the highest priorities at Yale SOM is to link closely with our parent institution, and students regularly enroll in courses at Yale Law School

If attending some law school classes is a major interest, note that many of the business schools in the top clusters allow students to take classes in their respective law schools. Yale is certainly a superlative law school but there are other top cluster law schools with strong business offerings as well.

Thanks Hjort ......

Can you please let me know about such schools ...

I always believe good MBA program should have a strong focus on LAW apart from the other core-business courses...Increasingly Corporations have to deal with the rising powers of Regulatory Bodies and i strongly believe future CEO's are the one who can carry the Finance and LAW hand-in-hand

Thanks

Here are a few top law schools that allow MBA students to take some law school classes:

NYU

Univ of Chicago

Columbia

Vanderbilt seems particularly open to business students taking law classes:

Hi,

Does Yale take the highest GMAT score or an average? On the application form it requests two GMAT scores (if you have written more than once).

Thanks,
Rigger.

They appear to combine the highest subscores (Q and V) from different administrations of the test. However, I would confirm this with the SOM.

Any reports on alumni from other (more prestigious) Yale programs (Law, undergrad) helpfulness in the job search process?

Hjort - is this true? I have e-mailed the Yale Admissions Office to confirm but I have never heard of a school taking the highest subscores from different administrations of the test. Are there any other schools that do this?

Yale seems to have really risen in the GMAT scores this year. Speaking with some "Yale insiders" they had a much higher yield last year than they were expecting.

Here is what I found out:

Thank you for your interest in the Yale School of Management MBA program. We ask you to list your two highest valid GMAT exams on the application. When reviewing your application, we will use your highest total score and the highest verbal and highest quant score from the two exams you listed on your application.
