Re: Because the management of the large corporation will often [#permalink]
A seems wrong because the first it is not needed and adds to the ambiguity of the sentence.

A. the first it makes the sentence unclear, and is not needed
B. management is singular but their is plural
C. changes the meaning of the sentence to say the forecasts are not significant.
D. their believe but management is singular, and sentence is awkwardly phrased.
E. E on the other hand has it and their, you know the it has to belong to mangament (which is singular) and their to forecasts (which is plural)

Therefore Agree with E

IMO,

A & E mean same. But compared to "E", "A" is wordy. So "E"

it is probable that X is significant VS X is probably significant

SimaQ wrote:
Because the management of the large corporation will often refer to macroeconomic forecasts when it plans for the future, it is probable that its belief in their soundness is significant

A) it is probable that its belief in their soundness is significant
B) it is probable that the soundness of their belief would be significant
C) believing their soundness is probably not significant
D) the significance of their belief on its soundness is probable
E) its belief in their soundness is probably significant

we can eliminate A?B because "it is", "there is/are", "here is/are" are normally incorrect and wordy.

C is awakward. D has wrong pronoun referent. "their" does not agree with mgmt.

E is correct, concise and short.

(E) works here. Its clearly refers to the management and as Himalaya mentioned, it`s the most concise.
