Thanks guys.

My profile :

Indian male. I turn 30 this year.
6 yrs Work Ex in an IT + Business Analysis capacity in the I Banking and Financial domain (most of it in Wall st).
GMAT 710.
Undergrad - Fairly unknown university in India (was a little concerned this would get in the way)
Applied : Stern (PT)
Admitted : Stern.

2 cents : Its a very common belief that "Indian Male applicants from an IT background are over represented and the competetion is tough in that pool". I am a perfect example of how wrong that is. I didnt really have a very glamorous profile or anything, but was still offered a place. I was just true and clear about my goals in my essays and that did it.

Thanks for the info! :beer Very well said about being clear about ones goals. Good luck for your future!

BTW I might apply to Stern Part time for Spring 2007. Same GMAT score as urs 710(Q50, V36). Same experience 6 yrs! Will contact you if I have some questions. Hope that it'll be OK with you.

I applied to the PT program at stern as well.
I have not yet heard back from them and am keeping my fingers crossed.

when did you apply for the program? I applied on may 12th. I heard that stern processes the applications in the order in which they recieve it .

Here is my profile

GMAT : 700
UGRAD GPA :3.86
GRAD GPA :3.6
WORK EX : 4 yrs

I applied to 4 schools. BU, BC, Babson and stern (weekend only). I got admitted to all 3 in the boston area but Stern is my top pick.
Hopefuly I get in.
Please let me know as to when you applied and what your credentials are.

What did you do for the creative essay ???

Anybody else in the same boat as me ??

sperumba,

i did not try to be overly creative in the last essay. I just told them the story of my life (tried not to make it sound like a rags to riches story) and how the various events of my life have made me what i am today, professionally and otherwise.

my profile is up there in the thread.

Good luck with your application.
