When doctors attempt to diagnose an illness, they look for ways in which the patient's symptoms resemble those of one diseases and are different than those of another.
A. and are differemt than those of another
B. and differs from others
C. and differ from those of others
D. but are difference than that of the other
E. but are different from those of the others


Please explain the difference between C and E.
I think the answer is E, but is C.
Why?

I think C is the most parallel of all.

... symptoms resemble those of one diseases and differ from those of others.

E is not so parallel and suggests an unnecessary contrast

Is the line those of one diseases correct?..the whole question does not sound correct to me..leave alone the highlighted part

I think C

"symptoms" is plural and we must use "differ" and not "differs"

and parallel structure and comparing similar objects

C for ||ism and removing redundant words.

"differ from" is almost always better than "different from"
