I had the same problem and my solution was to drink a red bull (which i kept cold with a thermos) and eat a protein bar during the break after quant. Some people don't work well with caffeine so this would obviously be a bad idea for those people. But since I drink a red bull nearly every day at work I'm accustomed to thinking with caffeine. Also, drinking a red bull after quant allows you to make it through AWA and Quant on your own energy, which is a good idea because you don't want to drink caffeine at the start of test as you will be coming down by the Verbal section (exactly when you need your energy the most!). Anyway thats just my 2 cents, I know a lot of the test prep companies tell you to avoid caffeine altogether.

Also, make sure that you do the AWA's with your practice tests!

How many full tests did you do before the exam?

I did 2-3 full tests and then reviewed each wrong answer each day on my last week of preparation , so the real thing was like a breeze. It seems that you have to work on your stamina to get the result you want.

Believe or not, i took 20+ full GMAT CATs plus 25 GMAT challenges.

Did you do the AWA with each test you did?

Dilshod,

Thanks for bringing this message up... I am in the same boat..

I was going back and thinking what I did in the first test..

Test was at 4.00 pm.

3.20pm --> Capuchino at Starbucks
3.50pm --> Began AWA
4.50pm --> Took the break, had a banana and water
4.55pm -> Began Quant.. I was worried I will overrun with the time..
6.05pm --> Finished Quant with 5 mins to spare
6.06pm --> Took the break. Had an apple and water.
6.13pm --> Began Verbal
7.25pm --> Finished teh test.. Was pissed off!

Obviously the food above did not seem to work. IhatetheGmat feels having coffee right in th begninning is not good!
So I am thinking this time,
Diet Coke before the AWA
Banana after AWA with water
Starbucks Cold Frapuchino after quant with another banana,probably a big kit kat too?

Any ideas?

Thanks!
