I choose BEEB

1) B. IMO you aim "at" a specific thing, you aim "for" more general or intangible things.
I have aimed my sights at the corner office for years.
I have aimed for the wealth and popularity that comes with it.

2) E. A has redundant "month of September". D is awkward. E nicely rephrases A without redundacy or changingthe meaning of the sentence.

3) E. B is too general -- education can be always useful for something other than entrepreneurship.

4). B. IMO, surprised "by" is the proper idiom. B is most succinct.

mantha-- AkamaiBrah is awfully bright, but I don't think he implied that his answers were necessarily guaranteed to be right.

Ashwyns, get to work!

Stoolfi,

I agree. Until we know the official answers no one dare stand up.

Ashwyn,

Can you cut the torture and post the answers please.

My Choices

E
D
A
B

1) "for" is correct to say speed and accuracy. So (A) and (D) gone, (B) and (C) somehow looks redundant, usage of "for" twice. So (E) is the best choice

2) D is the best, rest of the choices have dangling modifiers.

3) A is the best choice, because it only "some" entrepreneurs who succeded but left college in middle. So some sacrificed immediate gain for larger profit.

4) B. "by" is the proper idom, so (C) and (E) gone. (D) is wordy, (A) is incorrect as well, as it uses "pecularity".

Hi Guys

I am very very sorry for not replying. I didnt get any mail frm the website that u guys have been answering my question (it must have been inadvertently unclicked)...also, I was away the last two days.

Sorry, to keep u waiting.

Also, I take Paul's idea to put only 1 qn at a time.

Indeed, I found these qns very tough,....So, I put it up for u guys to have a look. The answers are-

A, E, A, E (Zhung Ghazi, u got it right, buddy. I wud like to know ur final GMAT score when u ever give (ur answers generally tend to be correct all the time). Now for the explanation-

1. Aim AT speed and accuracy ( U aim FOR gold (gold being tangible),..but u aim AT speed, perfection(intending to achieve something etc.)

2. "In the month"- redundant. I thought D and E were close. Answer is D is incorrect (or so, CRACK GMAT says)..cos the role of September is not clear..whether Africa is abundant in September only.
> E looks cleared (I agree with this part).

3. A is the best (others are irrelevant--but u tend to be misled with statements like- E- u dont need to be educated..

4. B and E are close. E is correct..surprised at ,,idiomatically.

I do not consider CRACK GMAT to be an authoritative source for "official" answers and I STRONGLY disagree with 1,3, and 4. I will defend my answers more fully tomorrow== must sleep now.

Well Since Akamaibrah has started the battle let me join that.

A for Q1 ? impossible.

look at the usage of aim

https://www.bartleby.com/68/55/255.html

It says aim at shoild be followed be gerund form of noun.
