What is P of two fair dice so that sum of both dice thrown is 6

How do I use permutations formula to find numerator?

I know that P of 1 dice throw is 1/6 so two dice = 1/36, but I am having trouble with translating finding numerator into a useful generic formula.

The total outcomes = 36

for the total to be 6, the outcomes need to be one of the following:
1,5
2,4
3,3
4,2
5,1

so the probability of getting a total of 6 is 5/36

Probability is not about formulae, its all logic. If you encounter such question (500 dice) then guess and move on in 5 seconds. But its highly unlikely (almost 0 probability) that you, or anyone, will get a question involving more than 3 dice.

IF you forget Left from Right, just hold up both of your hands with index fingers and thumbs extended. The one that looks like an L will be on your left.

I still have to do this at times...the problem is that I also have dyslexia.
