Go GSB!!!

Somehow I feel pretty positive about your chances

I hope so. I really hope so.

It kills me that after all this work all this time.... all this effort ... and were talking about a tremendous amount of effort here - hundreds of hours on the GMAT, hundreds more on apps - an inordinate amount of money on books, GMAT exams, flights, hotels, days off work - all I can do now is sit on my hands for the next 80 days.

Kellogg 83
Cornell 31
GSB 79
Harvard 92

Thats a lot of days of wait.

Very nerve racking.

Well, I am not going to sit on my behind :-D
I could not make the HBS app in time for the 1st round, so I'm gonna invest sime time into preparation of a good one for the 2nd. I also contemplate applying to a couple more schools, like Ross&Duke, just as a back-up.
But you are right - the waiting is excruciating.

Well, I suppose im not wasting time per se... I still have Darden and Georgetown to do. I think the time will pass with more ease from now until Dec, but the month of December will be slow - and the first week of january will be excruciating.

The worst part is sitting around wondering if Cornell is going to ask for an interview, or will HBS or will Chicago? :(

The "Ask Sandy" blog on BW has a lot of details about interview requests for HBS. I didn't look at it closely because I don't have an application in, but I do recall something like "if you don't have an interview by Christmas you are dead meat".

It was a lot different when I was applying for law school. Applications were all on paper and decisions were all sent by mail. Generally there were no interviews for law school. The rejections were pretty much sent out as soon as they rejected you (I think Yale must have decided to reject me after about 3 minutes I got the letter so fast) but acceptances were sent out close to the deadline.

Did you guys read about the incident at HBS a few years ago, when a bunch of students (like 500 if I recall correctly) got wind of some way to get a sneak peak at their decision by somehow hacking into the system? All those applications were rejected - so don't do that.

Rhyme - it is hard to hit submit because you feel like there are always things you can tweak/change. However I am sure you did a fine job on your app.

So far I have submitted Darden (Oct 17th)
Will probably do Yale by this weekend
Then Duke.

I am most nervous about Yale and Darden - the two schools I really love. Darden I have less concern over because the interview and school visit is over. But Yale is invite only - much like what you are going through. I need to get that interview.

I do recall that actually yes. I dont think ti was a hack or anything, it was just like if you changed the URL or something you could see it. It was really basic.
