Somehow I knew you were going to comment on the dog!

Actually, that dog gave me some great stuff for my interview believe it or not.

Speaking of which, I gotta go get ready for my interview. Everyone cross their fingers, do a rain dance, scream at a wall, or whatever your religion suggests is fine.

Believe me, you will be much more than okie...(don't know how to express "much more than okie" . My verbal is limited)
Best luck, Rhyme. Go break a leg.

Cornell Interview COMPLETE.

Very down to earth interview, felt I was a bit too laid back maybe. Only hard question was how I would handle a team member at Johnson that didn't perform up to par.

I pretended my interviewer was the person on the team and addressed them directly. Beyond that, I basically said that I'm open and direct without being hostile. I used the term "tough love". It was a riskier approach, but it was honest.

Not that much to report on. It's what you'd expect.

An hour long, typical questions

Walk me through your experience
Why did you choose the major you did (I switched majors)
Tell me about how you view your leadership style
Tell me about teamwork and how you work in teams
What three things would you like me to bring back to the adcom?
What would you bring to cornell?
Why are you interested in cornell?
What other schools are you considering?
What would you do if someone in your study group wasn't performing?
Tell me about a time your team failed in a task, how did you handle it?

Now that I think about it, I basically had the same interview as mark4124.

I didn't get the "failed in a task" but other than that... it does indeed sound much the same as my interview. My interviewer sounds a little less laidback though... We started off with small talk and then she said... "now lets get down to business" and the relaxation/laid-backness was over. Probably the difference between an admissions officer and a student... Dartmouth with a second year was more laid back. But again... content-wise quiet the same. Seems like:

I got "tell us about a time when you innovated"
Ryme got "failed in a task"
and swogtz got "day in the life (I assume of your job)"

maybe there is like a standard list and then a few toss ups...
They say that the adcom at Cornell gives the interviewer some questions to ask about certain points they want clearification on in some of those businessweek articles, but I didn't get the feeling that any of the questions came from the adcom and were geared towards My background... Of course the interviewer asked follow ups about my background in relating stories... but didn't seem like they were "given questions to ask"

When i spoke to an alumni at London Info, he said they get a list of questions, and they are asked to randomly choose a few of the questions.

so sounds like there are chances of off repeated questions, but also if some guy wants to be really tough, he could choose questions that are really hard from the list
