I recently read an article that stated some admissions officials saw asian applicants in a different light than other applicants. Asians were held to a higher standard, needing higher GPAs and scores.

Does it help or hurt my application to state that I'm Korean/Korean-American?

dont worrry about this bullsh--.
it depends on the pool and number of ethnic group already in . if there are 20 koreans already in and you are jsut another good one you have a poor chance but if you are unique, you are on a road to success.

not really. if you have to fill it out-you have to . you have a good chance any way. if you can avoid , do otherwise there's no harm in mentioning. have faith in god and yourself. And the asians are the backbone of the new world order so nothing to worry about being from asian gene pool

I think that you just are who you are. I was in a similar situation and utilized a small portion of one of my essays to cover this point. I decided not to worry about it because it ain't gonna change.

You cannot hide.

Even if you can hide the fact from the application, Interviewer will know where you are from.

i too am a Korean-American and I specified it on my apps.

not really a concern and should not work against us
