I don't know what went wrong with Columbia. And they do not provide any feedback which is really frustrating considering all the work we put into applying. My stats are good. My interview was probably the best I have ever had. My interviwer told me he was impressed with all I could add and would write me a stellar recomendation (and I did not even ask for his feedback).

Columbia as far as i know is yield paranoid
so they probably dinged u for they tht you might land up in uChic or Whart??

I wonder how important the interview is. Virtually everyone who interviewed at Columbia says his/her interviewer promised rave recommendations.

I wonder if 'fit' is a better predictor for a decision between columbia and nyu since these schools seem to have different atmospheres.

He did not ask me that. He did do a bit of selling though - why HE chose columbia over wharton.

I came acrooss a blog by a columbia student who wrote about the admission stuff.

He mentioned that Columbia is a bunch of students proud of their college and jabber a lot of NY advantage (the only reason probably why you would prefer Columbia over chic and whart)

So he recomended a dose of enthusiasm and praise for school to boost the intervieewer ego and some standard stories of NY advantage. :D

So if you havent done that then u would be in a relatively weaker postion

Note this info is based upon forums/blogs and some google research :) May not be 100% true
