Questions:
1. which universities should i target based on my goals
2. any universities which will prepare me better for energy specialisation
3. University of houston (third tier) business school gives specialisation in energy concentration. i m leaning on that instead of poor ranking. i m also based in houston and it is energy capital of the world. do u think poor ranking will affect my chances to get into top companies.
thanks in advance.
engineer,
Your energy-focused profile helps you stand out from the pack. Aside from Houston, you should also consider Texas Austin and other Texas schools such as SMU and Rice. Given your energy goals and the nature of the energy industry (where MBAs and business school brand counts for less) an MBA from Texas business schools would be no disadvantage to you, indeed, would probably be valued locally more than a degree from a "prestigious" school that didn't prepare you for the energy industry.
Hope this helps,
