Hi Guys,
So I had my test yesterday and got the following score:
680 (Q48, V35)
Well, the circumstances under which I got to give the test were unusual and the stress before the test definitely hurt my performance.
So a day before the test, I realized that my passport was missing. The night before, I was looking for it till like 2:30am. Next day my test was at 3 pm. So at 8 am I went to the test center and told them that I had a photocopy of my passport and a NYS license. They told me that in India, a passport is a must.
So I still didn't give up and called up the call center people. They told me that if I could get a police report, that might help my case. So I went to the police station and they directed me to the passport office. Anyways, at the end it came down to my getting the report at 2:30 pm. I was stressed out of my mind. I still made it to the center on time and managed to sit for the test. But I feel that lack of sleep and stress stopped me from getting the 700+ that I was actually aiming for =(
Study Materials Used:
1.
OG 11th edition
2. PR Cracking the GMAT (Online CATs, AWA Section, SC section)
3. Kaplan (Quant, CATs on CD, Some drills on CD)
4. GmatPrep
The actual test was most similar to GMATPrep undoubtedly. I found the math section to be harder than I expected. I thought I was doing reasonably well on the Verbal but was disappointed with my score.
I guess at the end of the day, it's about keeping your nerves as it does not matter how you do on practice tests, but it's your actual score which is going to count.
I strongly recommend being completely rested before the test. So make sure you keep your ID safely atleast a week before the test so that you do'nt have to go through the stressful situation that I did.
