I'm here. No problem lepium. We're only going to ask for people who are willing to volunteer them, as it is very private and while I may share some essays, I won't share all of them myself :)

I think we also all understand that it might be a fair amount of work to edit them down to remove personal information. With classes just starting I am not holding out hope of getting much. I think that this past spring people who had been accepted and had a lot more free time would have been much more willing to spend a few hours putting stuff together.

In the end this may become a site where we just ask each other for help reviewing paragraphs and essays.

I suspect you are right. We may have hit on this idea too late. But, the idea has a lot of potential and hopefully will be a great value add for next year's applicants.

well, don't sound so down, riverripper ;) ncprasad is right, we should focus on making this a site that's useful for next year's class, even if we don't benefit from it this year. At least now that it's setup, when we all get admitted, we can put our stuff here while we still have time and are enjoying our post-admit rush! :)

Its funny how so many people will want access to this area convinced that it holds all these secrets.

Personally I would feel more comfortable asking opinions on ideas for my own essays on here than the other forum since i know its not going to be stolen by anyone just passing through....thanks to a few other posters comments about the possibility of some of my blog entries being stolen I am paranoid about this now. Last thing I want is someone reading my essays and someone elses and seeing a lot of overlap. That seems like a sure fire way of getting blacklisted.

Appreciate the sentiment. Without the initiative shown by a few members last year, the B-School App forum would not exist.

By the way, some of the admitted members have access to this forum. This is the start of their semester and I would give them some time.

riverripper, you have me all paranoide too now... haha :)

I think I'm going to go back and edit out some details of my posts... or move them here eventually.

Maybe each post can be a discussion on its own. For example, if I post my Haas Careers essay, that thread can be used for people to ask questions and other members can try to answer and analyze with them.

That might be a more effective use of this forum. Personally I feel its a little late in the game to bother people about getting their essays. Almost everyone is wrapped up in the start of school and also I am so focused on my own work I don't know if reading other peoples is going to help much. I mean I am dreaming ideas 24/7 for my essays...

I will be more than willing to submit materials that worked for me following this year for the forum.

well, those who are interested in asking admitted students can still go and ask. It never hurts to ask.

I already PM-ed pelihu and naturallight. I'll pm others if no one wants to do this. :)
