Yale SOM - No Longer offering No-co-signer Loan for Intn'ls
From Yale ~Adcom

Unfortunately we are no longer providing the GATE-Y loan, which international students could take out without a co-signer. At this time we have not yet replaced the GATE-Y loan.

I am curious to know..how offering this loan is a problem for Yale

I was wondering the same thing. I also can find the deadline dates. If anyone knows them it would be a big help.

Yale SOM 2007-2008 MBA Application Deadlines

Yale recently released the deadlines for Fall 2008 entry to its full-time MBA program. As in years past, applications will be accepted in three rounds; there are no major changes to this year’s deadlines or notification dates.

Yale SOM Full-time MBA Application Deadlines
Round One
Application Deadline: October 24, 2007
Decision Notification: January 18, 2008

Round Two
Application Deadline: January 9, 2008
Decision Notification: April 4, 2008

Round Three
Application Deadline: March 12, 2008
Decision Notification: May 9, 2008

Picked up from clearadmit.com

I emailed the admissions office and they said the online app would be available late in August. They would not give me a date. i guess we just need to check periodically next week.

Let's Brainstorm. What question are you going to create for the 3rd essay?

I am going to write about my biggest passion, which is being involved in the local independent music scene (see writing process thread). I've been doing it for 12+ years and it is a very unique experience, and says a lot about me as a person and what I would bring to Yale.

Thats great. You have the right idea. Show who you are outside of work and leadership postitions.

I am going to write about a maturing/failure experience that has been a big motivating factor in my life.

Yale seems like a service oriented school.

I have basically no extracurriculers. Is that bad for this school?

You will probably need to explain why at some point. They are not completely service oriented, but it will certainly help.

I am applying to Yale R1.

How will your past work experience or life experiences in general contribute to the diversity of Yale SOM?

Is this question good enough to be the third essay in Yale app?

For that question, what I did was write a great essay, then came up with a question to match what I wrote. I think that kind of "reverse" writing fits pretty well....the exact question isn't as important as the actual essay.

Nice Idea. Thank you.

Diversity seems to be my only USP. That was the reason I was thinking of that question.

Yeah, if you can write a great unique essay regarding the kind of diversity you might bring, then go for it! Good luck.

can we highlight Yale's strengths in non-profit sector management in essays?

Ideally, we should. But I read some where that Yale SOM is trying to shed that non-profit image. Given this, will they take highlighting non-profit aspect in right spirit?
