Just got an email from Columbia...yahooo.......I am IN.....I was a re-applicant from the last year and applied really early this year.........I am also admitted to INSEAD (Jan Intake) and already paid my deposit of $6500...but my post-MBA goals involve working in US and therefore, I am thinking to let INSEAD go……

Age: 33 year old USA Permanent Resident

Work Exp: 9 years of experience (a lot of international
projects) Energy/Disaster
Management with a Fortune 500 Engineering
Consulting Firm

Post-MBA Goals: Move into private energy investment field
targeting World Bank/IFC/GE Energy Financial
Services/SUEZ/Bechtel/URS

GPA: 3.4 and 3.8

Thank you everyone...why they rejected me last year? I think my career essay was not that crisp or in other words my career path was not clear. Please keep in mind that my goals are sort of non-traditional. While it always helps to be non-traditional, it really puts you on the spot. Questions such as why MBA/why Columbia/why Now become much more important than traditional applicants who want to move to IB or MC. One more thing. I applied quite late last year. I also made sure that I enhance my candidacy on multiple fronts (professional, extra curricular etc).
