Question for R1ers ..
When it comes to mentioning the courses/specializations that you are interested in at stern, did you guys choose to write this in essay 1 or 2 ? To me it makes more sense to write them in #1, so I can relate that to my goals ...but part (3) of essay #2 confuses me ...

I'm planning a visit first week of December, about the time they close class visits :), anyone else planning the same ..? looks like I'm pretty late in the game ...:(

I chose to write about that stuff in Essay 1 because it flowed a bit better and because I didn't feel like there was enough room in Essay 2 to hit the points I wanted to hit about my planned courses/specializations. Either is probably fine, but addressing it right off the bat when they ask you "Why an MBA" and about your professional aspirations seems to be an effective way to do it.

Rolling admission question [#permalink]
Hi,

I was wondering why Stern has deadlines for the apps if the school does Rolling admission? I mean, they review each app on a first come, first serve basis but why are there 3 deadlines?? Are they Round admission?

NYU's vague rule of attesting transcripts from your home consulates is single handedly going tp push my application process to R2

I have to go to SF to te Indian consulate to get my transcripts verified.. waht a hoax..

and knowing how the consulate works.. I have no hopes of a quick turn around

One question regarding this .
I'm going to the Houston Indian Couns., but read this on their web-site:

" General guidelines for Consular Attestation of Power of Attorney/Documents, including academic certificate, Birth/Death/Marriage Certificates, Driving Licenses and other documents:
- ..
- Documents/Certificates originating in India should be authenticated by the Consular Section of the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi before submission to the Consulate for attestation. ...
- .."

Does the sfo couns. have similar requirements ? I don't see how I can get my transcripts to India and back for this ...I haven't yet called them and asked how particular are they about this, but I'm assuming they are ....
any comments from desis who have done this ?

I wanted to do the same thing at Houston, so called them and they said I needed to have the Delhi verification done prior to coming there. Having no clue on how to go about doing that, I gave up on it and just got my official transcripts from the school.

Thanks dude ..
I did not read any such requirement on the NY couns. website....I guess I'll have to extend my ny visit to 2 days to get transcripts attested from the embassy ...
Getting original transcript is just not an option from the university in India I come from ..wish my masters transcripts sufficed ..this is such a pain...sigh.
