Are any of you guys from Southeast Asia region?
I am wondering how competitive the SEA pool is compared to other pools.
Could anyone pls give me an insight of how many students from this region are accepted each year. Cheers.

aviroop et al,

I just wanted to confirm: based on the latest info, all admitted applicants will have been interviewed, right?

Notokung,

As far as students from South East Asia, I think you will be competing mostly with Thai students (sorry, I looked at your profile). I am from Thailand myself and based on other schools' info sessions that I have attended, there are more applicants applying this year than last year, which is consistent with the trend in GMAT test-takers' volume. So in general you can expect more competition this year.

I am not applying for UCLA, at least right now, but I remember seeing a brochure from Anderson. I think it accepts quite a number of students from Chula... not sure if you graduated from there. If I remember correctly, Chula was #4 on the most represented universities list. This probably doesn't mean much since it could change this year.

If you really want to get a feel of how competitive the Thai applicant pool is this year, talk to a current Anderson student. These students especially the ones that hold info sessions will know how much interests are there this year compared to last year's.

Not sure if this answers your question but I hope it helps.

Thank you guys for the input. Agree that the competion will be tougher this year since most of the Thai students seem to get a really high GMAT this year. All I can do right now is keep my fingers crossed and hope Anderson will see some good things in my profile.

BCC145, looking at yr name, you must be a BCC alum, right?
I have lots of friends from BCC145. Maybe I hv known you from somewhere already (",)

nope, none here. i'm not expecting one either - UCLA was the first app i completed, so it's not my best one. essays were a bit weak.
