is round 3 for UCLA roughly the same as applying in the first two rounds?

i know round 4 has very tough competition due to the limited spots and the diversity the school looks for. is round 3 any different?

I heard Round 3 is still ok for UCLA. But I'm not 100% sure.

I think undergraduate work experience could just be listed in your resume if it's significant. Also, your optional essay shouldn't be all spent on explaining your low GPA, otherwise that may start to sound like you're finding excuses.

Was your undergraduate work experience the reason you got a low GPA? Maybe you can talk about it that way?

Ok thanks, but UCLA wants a standard resume and not expanded one right?

Yes, it was one of the reasons, however the work content itself was also significant enough that I feel would add to my overall career profile, instead of just saying somewhere I worked part-time and it killed my GPA.

As for my optional essay, I tried to not make excuses but rather talk from the point of view of "why I would succeed at MBA despite low undergrad grades", and I talk about reaons like working part-time during undergrad which I won't do during MBA, challenged myself with a tough major in undergrad to learn more, increasing trend in grades showing maturity, taking extra post-grad class etc.

Do you think that's ok or does that sound like making excuses?

Thanks!

I think that's a good approach for the optional essay.

Does anyone else have info missing from their PDF app copies?

Like all the information is definitely entered, and its in the printable version. But when I look at the PDF version, parts of addresses and other minor stuff are missing.

Also, why are there lots of spaces for various info in the PDF, but you don't ahve the option of entering them online?? For example, 4 spaces for activities in PDF, but you can only enter 3 in app. The location for your job has a space in PDF, but you can't enter in the app itself. etc, etc.

yes, the printed PDF is strange that way, missing items, open spaces that you could not have filled in anyway, etc... don't worry too much about it as long as you filled out everything online and it looks good there. :)

don't give up hope yet. UCLA will resume interview invites probably starting tomorrow (my guess, no sources). When they say they're out of the office, they're REALLY out of the office, as I found out last summer when I tried to visit and could not get anyone to reply to me at all.

Haas is still inviting people, and they're far from done yet (based on percentages invited already), so don't worry!
