Re: Application Website Rankings [#permalink]
I'm surprised that Wharton is ranked so low.

I agree wholeheartedly that Columbia and UCLA belong at the bottom, however I've always found Wharton's website to be well designed and easy to navigate.

Also, just my 2 cents and I know I'm biased, but I think Chicago is a league above Yale and Kellogg on design and execution.

I would agree on Chicago. I would also like to add that Chicago's admission department has been truly outstanding compared to a few others I've dealt with. My recommender submitted his letter and checked 'Top 2%' for every category. After I politely pointed out his mistake, the admissions department was happy to open up the letter and let him correct it. UCLA on the other hand was certainly not willing to offer the same amount of assistance. Of course I'm not surprised.

Anyway, my point is that I'm not surprised Chicago's website is near the top because every interaction I've had with them has been first rate. Other schools have not been as helpful.

Agreed, my visit to campus was by far the most professional and meaningful visit that I have had so far.

I'm surprised that the duke website is ranked so high - I'm not a fan of the new format! It takes forever to load each page and is really tricky to find anything!

Re: Application Website Rankings [#permalink]
Kellogg is working on their new website which is definitely an improvement over last years. They are actively seeking feedback so if anyone has any opinions let me know and I can pass it along. I think there are advantages of lots of different sites. I like the interaction sections on some sites like Chicago where they have their own messageboards and stuff. Personally I like the employment reports, I didnt really like how some really put little information out there...Kellogg's is above and beyond all the others with detail and it would be nice for all the others to have ones similar to theirs. Some class profiles are better than others, I know Kellogg's could contain some more helpful info...even I am curious.

Agree with the earlier comments about Wharton and Columbia. UCLA would have to be pretty bad to be worse than Columbia's "uni project" application interface. Wharton, NYU and Harvard use the same underlying application engine (incidentally Princeton uses the same). So, Wharton ranked so low doesn't make any sense.

Agree with Duke, the new website is very sub-par in my opinion...

Takes a long time to find anything. While I like the idea behind it, the execution is bad.

I didn't like Wharton's at all, I'm not suprised to see it that low.
