Should I worry my application has not changed to complete? I submitted on October 5th?

I really don't know but I feel like Anderson is a little less well-organized than other top 20 schools. I wouldn't take it to mean anything.

edit: just to clarify, I received an email that states my application is complete and a different link with application ID so that I can keep track of this. it still only says "received" on applyyourself.com

So you did or didn't get an interview invite? If you did, then congrats! How did they let you know? By email?

Congrats guys..... But on what date did you submit??? Don't wanna go overboard with the guessing..... but still..... UCLA is rolling process and should give a fair bit of idea for the remaining of us (despite what they say on the website).

I don't think its rolling because I submitted my app fairly late, around 11PM EST on October 8. If I were to venture a guess I'd say it is based on GMAT scores (760 Q51/V41) since my GPA is a@@ low (<3.0).

Note: when I say based on GMAT scores I mean which applications they chose to read first, therefore if you have a 750+ GMAT score but crappy essays, it just means that they will probably read your application first, but still not extend an invite. But again this is just based on groundless speculation...

Here's the link for the transcript with a UCLA adcom on Oct 6, 2008:
https://www.accepted.com/chat/Transcript ... _ucla.aspx

I found this part interesting:

Apaar (Oct 6, 2008 12:32:25 PM)
Mae: Approximately, what percentage of the applicants is invited for interview?

MaeShoresANDERSON (Oct 6, 2008 12:35:00 PM)
Apaar - this past year we changed to interview by invitation and interviewed approximately 27 or 28% of the pool. We will interview that same amount again this year or even more - we do not let the numbers drive the process and would much rather err on the side of being too generous up front.
********************************************************************************************

I'm really surprised that the interview percentage is so low (that's barely higher than the acceptance rate) considering that UCLA's yield is in the 50s. Unless UCLA accepts a lot of students without interviews then I don't see how this number can hold.

Not sure, I think they do. However, I don't think anyone should be concerned, I talked to the admissions person at a UCLA event and she said to not be concerned if you hear of people getting interviews this week and you haven't yet, they have a ton of applications to go through and offer interviews throughout the round 1 period.

My prediction is that the acceptance rate will go under 20% this year. So, 30% interview rate isn't that shocking.

Re: Calling UCLA Fall 2009 Applicants [#permalink]
Any advice on doing an on-campus or local interview?

I originally signed up for a local interview because of the cost to fly out to LA. I also was just there last month, but explored the campus informally, and didn't visit the admissions office or classes, etc. I marked on my application I visited though.

So my husband is giving me a hard time about the cost to fly out there, but I'd really like to go. What do you guys think? I think I can still change it, there are interview slots open for most of November.
