I just posted the stats because i thought it was interesting.
However, I think they were just counting all the ppl who have submitted the first deposit of 1500. some of those ppl are bound to withdraw due to the unreasonably early deposit deadline.

So i think the yield will definitely go down, though i am guessing it to be higher than previous years.

oh yea, I completely agree with you. There's no way it will stay around 70%, but I just wanted to show what would happen if that was the case.

Undoubtedly many folks who put down a deposit have already moved on to other schools.

I also agree however, that it will go up. The question is by how much? are we talking 60% yield? 65% yield?

For the R4 applicant, I wouldn't be too worried. The increase in yield will most certainly effect wait listers before you guys. Regarding the financial aid email, yes, all applicants received that. I remember it gave me a heart attack!

Well I called up the admissions office to get some info as to why there are no changes to the 'Received' status of my application even though I submitted my application on the 4th round deadline of 23rd March. Even the tests are shown as not verified. The person answering told me that currently the adcom was busy sorting out 3rd Round waitlists before proceeding to 4th Round applicants. This made me a little uneasy! Especially since I am a dual degree applicant and have already been selected at the other school at Cornell (thus the late app to Johnson).

Can someone please tell me how I should perceive the above. Also, I am Indian with a GMAT of 690, great extra currics, entrepreneur (part time) and a college senior.

Your app is in so there's no point in stressing over it...nothing to change now. Just sit back, relax and don't think about cornell.

Nobody here can predict what will happen and reading a bunch of speculation and unsubstantiated analysis will probably give you even more anxiety.

There's nothing to perceive, it sounds as if you received a very straightforward answer to your question from the admissions folks.

Round 4 is a small round. The adcom is just trying to round out the class with the remaining offers. The turnaround time for your app therefore should be much quicker than previous rounds.

Good Luck!

Well I am sure the adcom won't just round off admissions with Round 3 after having a well published Round 4 extension for scholarships and International students. I mean after all I paid them $200 for my application and am sure there are going to be some places and extensive reviews. As per my conversation, the adcom guy said that they are finalizing Round 3 wait listers and then will move to Round 4. What I got out of this was that they are choosing or shortlisting W/Lers from Round 3 who would in a way compete with people in Round 4 for the final places or something.

Well, I am new to all this. At the end of the day, I hope I make it to Cornell!

I don't mean to imply that round 4 apps won't receive an extensive review or a fair shake. All I mean is since it is the last round, there is no more speculation or guesswork about future rounds, and it is a much smaller round, so the turnaround is much less. If you have 15 people reviewing 200 apps vs. 1000 apps, of course it will take less time.

Anyway, I wish you all the best, and :-D I hope I make it too!

Thanks!

Johnson adcom said on BW that waitlist will be reviewed and some people will be made offers in next few days. Has anyone heard any updates?

Did you guys see this?

leak-usnews-2010-mba-rankings-yale-som-breaks-top-77830.html

Is Cornell's Johnson school so bad or what? I have been hearing a lot of negative things about it and these rankings are just confirming my worst fears. Not that I am admitted there, but it's just disappointing.

I was a R1 admit, but will be matriculating at Ross. Hopefully one of the WL folks on gclub will take my spot.

Good luck! :gl

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to know how much time it took for your application status to change from 'Currently Under Review' to 'Invited for interview'? Someone told me that in case you are not being called for an interview at Johnson, they let you know the same before the notification date or something. Is it true? I put in my app on 23rd March for Round 4, it went for review on 10th April, and I haven't heard anything since. I have done a lot of hard work for each aspect of the application and am very optimistic. but this delay is killing me :(

Thanks BuckTooth. Just to confirm - Is there any other change from 'Currently Under Review' status? That is, if you are not being called for interview, does this change to declined or something before the notification date?
