Good question SolarMBA,
I would say most people said to waive out of a class if you can. If it takes a lot of work over the summer to prepare, then I personally would say that it may not be worth waiving. You'll get 7 classes with your cohort, along with many big events and cohort competition, so waiving out of one (or two) classes will not be detrimental. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what electives are available to take this fall (most of them filled up when we were bidding), so you may not have that many choices to make up those 2 units. Of course, speaker series (1 unit each) could be used to fill up the slots.
Finally, the core curriculum MIGHT change this fall (faculty are voting on it), so the Fall AB/Spring AB schedule you listed may shift.
So yeah, in summary:
- Waive if you don't have to prepare too much (i.e. more than 1 week of moderate studying) for it
- Don't worry about "missing out" if you waive out of one class
- If you can waive out of stats, do it!
- Spend your summer relaxing! Don't study too much or worry about what you need to "prepare" for school. The answer is, you don't need to prepare anything. There'll be LOTS of studying once school starts, trust me.
