Does anyone know question numbers that were added in OG 12t [#permalink]
Does anyone know question numbers that were added in OG 12th?
Is it worth going through the new questions that were added?(just in case no one has the list for them)

I think MGMAT has done an analysis of the new OG compared to the previous version.

look it up - there may be some pointers there.

Re: The Official Guide for GMAT 12 [Merged] [#permalink]
Hello
This is my very first post and I must say, thanks for such a nice forum. Within the past couple of hours, I've already learned a lot!!

I read someone's post that the 10th edition is the best by far. I have an old 9th edition of the OG given by a good old friend. how is that compared to the 11th/12th edition? It says on my book's cover that there are 1000 Actual GMAT questions!

thanks

Welcome to GMATClub Emperorblack,

I don't think anyone has that kind of info since OG 9 was replaced by OG 10 in 2002/2003 - that's a long time ago!
I would say most questions have been replaced compared to the OG 12, so you should definitely get a copy of OG12. I would also suspect that the questions in that edition would be easier than OG 12.

Thanks for the welcome! yeah, its a very old book. The person who took the tests back in 2000 scored 733 and I've kept the books since then hoping someday I will take the GMAT and match her score. Looks like I've waited too long.

Oops - I think I should clarify - you did not wait too long.
The book is not bad in any way - it is actually GOOD that questions in OG 12 and OG 9 do not overlap much - you will get more practice questions. The only downside is that you will see questions on the easier side in OG 9.

Thanks for all of the info... I have been considering buying the 12th edition even though I already have OG 11th ed. Right now I am just going to focus on learning the topics instead of just trying to do more questions.

For OG12, is there a breakdown of the questions by difficulty levels, or types of problems?

Thanks!

I am only aware of this type of breakdown for OG10. I don't believe it exists for OG 11 or OG 12

EDIT: OG 12 is already organized by difficulty (from easy to hard)

It will work - there is a conversion table on MGMAT's website.

Hi,

I have just started my GMAT preparation. Can anyone please help me in deciding which OG version should I refer to.Should I buy 10th , 11th and 12th ( all three)???.

I want to focus most of my time on verbal . Please suggest the best material for the same.

Thanks

The OG 12 is the latest one. The OG 11 is still for sale.
I'd say it does not matter which one you get unless you are planning to work with the MGMAT Guides (they are tied to specific editions and it is best to use the one they are tied to though conversion tables are available).
There is a strong overlap between OG 11 and OG 12 (about 70%)

OG 10 is quite different from the OG 12/OG 11 but has a heavy overlap with GMAT Prep and PowerPrep so would not recommend that you do it before taking those tests.

Bottom line - just get OG 12 :)
