Thanks for the reply. I am expecting more replies to this one, because i am sure many like me might be having similar problem.

Ebx.

62.Natural GDP, Price/wage spiral and Non-Accelerating Inflation Rate of Unemployment, are increasingly being studied for their potential to be triggers of inflation, possibly causing increased shoe leather costs, and significant contributors to redistribution.
A. to be triggers of inflation, possibly causing increased shoe leather costs, and
B. to be triggers of inflation, possibly increasingly causing shoe leather costs, and even as
C. as triggers of inflation, possibly causing increasing shoe leather costs, and
D. as triggers of inflation, and the possible cause of increasing shoe leather costs,
E. as triggers of inflation, as possible causes of increasing shoe leather costs, and even as

Oa is .

Now can somebody explain the difference in more detail,

'potential to' is an idiom. so that leaves you options A and B only.
In B, 'possibly increasingly causing shoe leather' doesn't sound right to me ..I am not sure 'causing' is being used as verb here ... so two adverbs modifying what? some one can shed more light on this.

I choose A.

I am puzzled. It was explained in other SC problem that "potential for'' is a corect idiom rather than "potential to''

Good question.

Only after reaching E did i realize the parallelism problem.

.....being studied for their potential AS X, AS Y, and even AS Z ........... (correct only in E)

A - potential TO BE X, possibly CAUSING Y, and Z ..... (doesn't make sense at all, especially for Z)
B - parallelism issue, as well as wrongly using "increasingly causing"
C - Parallelism problem
D - ending doesn't make sense, "....shoe leather costs, significant contributors...."
E correctly uses "as"

Exactly, I have the same answer.
