Hey K,
Can you give some insight Haas' alumni network strength, esp in Asia? I heard that Berkeley has some pretty good recognition throughout Asia, but would something like this be important if one is interested in returning to Asia eventually in the future?
And i came bak from the info session at Bain. The alumni turnout was pretty small tonight haha. didn't really get to know haas from the student's perspective that well
Hi Ancientmtk,
The Haas alumni network strength is pretty strong in Asia, especially East Asia. With our yearly China, Hong Kong, and Japan Treks, where Haas is one of the very few schools that get an audience with top companies in the country, along with our Asia Business Conference, the Asia Business Center, and many alums who end up working in East Asia, it won't be too hard to return to Asia.
check out last year's conference:
https://berkeleyabc.org/2009/index.htmlWe usually keep the number of alums small at our information sessions (even the ones in the Bay Area), and encourage applicants to visit Haas and get the full student perspective (our lunch with students, information sessions given by students, and class visit usually gives you quite a few perpsectives). If you can't travel to Haas, you can also check out the student club websites and contact some club officers in the areas you're interested in, or email
hsa@haas.berkeley.edu and they will put you in contact with a student (or two) for 1-on-1 attention.
Hope that answers your questions!
