Hi Alex,
Please evaluate my profile. I want to go to LBS. Currently, I have work ex of 4 years (nearly 5 when i join). I am an Indian working with JP Morgan for the past 6 months and before that was working with Infosys(an Indian IT company). Despite being in software industry, i am lucky to have worked with major Investment Banks. I have worked for UBS for 3 years, 6 months for Nationwide Building society(an insurance behemoth) and now working with JPMC. I have been to London for a span of 18 months when i was with UBS and then with NBS. I want to apply only to UK schools as i have a know how and feel of UK as i have lived there and also my expenses will be minimal there.(My uncle stays there). If not LBS, which colleges shall i apply to?
So far, i have narrowed down on LBS and Cass(It's good in finance too).
I want to pursue my MBA in finance as that is the field which i love and i know that LBS is very good in finance. I will not opt for MIF in Finance as i want to develop a broader perspective.
I am a computer engineer with honors (70%). I have taught Maths and English to workers at my company through an initiative and i am an active member of an NGO. I have taken various securties and equities certifications by NSE and also by Dun & Bradstreet. I am working in Global QA team which deals primarily with Equities. I have thorough knowledge of various types of market instruments, the flows associated with them. I have led a team of 4 while i was with UBS in London. Have given month long training to a team of 3 people in Perot systems of the application i knew.
I have given GMAT twice and scored 620 and 580 respectively. I am preparing for the third time now and will take it in december. I am aiming for 680 - 700+ this time as both times anxiety took the best of me.
Given i get the desired score, will you encourage me to apply to LBS as i am a bit worried about being in the Indian IT Male group.
Waiting in anticipation.
Regards,
Rajiv
