I am sure they will with the score.. it is above their average so it is a check! If it makes you feel better I submitted a very good application except the GMAT score.

Thanks Aenigma! But see, this is what worries me. I've heard (only too late) that AWA can be cracked easily by following certain pre-defined templates. After hearing that, I was in 2 minds whether to re-take the GMAT just for the sake of a better AWA. Although I didn't go for it, I feel really bad for having such a low percentile just because I didn't know about a 'template' I could have followed :-(

I'm really glad you didn't retake the GMAT for a better AWA. With a score like yours it's not even remotely worth it. I'm positive that a 4.5 on the AWA per se will not keep you out of any school. Be proud of your great performance and focus on the things that really matter.

Hey thanks again! I guess I'll just have to wait it out and see if the schools agree :P

Templates don't really matter with AWA. I got a 5.5 and never looked at an AWA problem or template before the test. Also, I heard that if you just write half way decent (4+) they don't really care about it. Good Luck.

Do they change your status? I only applied to Round 2 schools, and so far the only school that said "complete" as my application status was Wharton's (and it says it below where it says "submitted") - and I got an interview invite from MIT so I figure that must be "complete"...

Hmm...Columbia and Tuck both updated my status from submitted to complete (CBS says "you application is being printed and prepared for review"). Stanford probably doesn't...

Congrats Marie!

I wonder if they send out invites to the West Coast first. Any Round 1ers want to chime in?

Aren't they all done by alums? I would expect it would depend on an alum in your local area picking yours from the list.
(I do undergrad interviews and that is how it works.)
