Great post +1

I'm anxiously awaiting my decision from Ross. I went to Super Saturday and was really impressed. Michigan went from my second choice to my first choice.

Glad to hear from a married MBA candidate. I'll be married as well as an MBA student and it's good to be able to set some expectations upfront.

NCP-

I have been accepted to Ross and plan on studying there. A couple of questions:

Did you travel for your MAP project? If yes, did your spouse go with you?

Did you interract with many other married couples there?

Was your decision not to pursue consulting tied to your married status?

Thanks!

Pre777, congrats on your admit and am glad you are considering Ross seriously. See my comments below.

No, I did a local MAP at an Ann Arbor biotech start up. Therefore, my spouse did not need to travel with me.

Not as much as other people. There are 4 other couples with whom we hang out a lot, but in general other couples have more extended social circles. Since we have a son, we cant socialize at couples happy hours and my wife also works here full-time. So, our involvement is limited. Most other spouses dont work and therefore they pretty much spend every day together shopping, doing outdoor activities, arranging play dates etc.

Yes. And your question comes at a particularly important time for me. By monday, I need to decide if I am going to take a GM offer at a healthcfare firm or go to the healthcare practice of a fairly well-known consulting firm. The consulting offer kind of fell into my lap sometime in the last 2 months. So, once I make up my mind I will come back and answer this question again.

edit: Made my decision. I am going to pass on my consulting offer and yes, it was based on work-life balance apart from the accelerated leadership career the other role had to offer.

Hope this is helpful.

Hey thank you so much for your feedback. Congrats on your offers!

I took the career leader assessment and the results pointed me towards consulting. However the hours involved really do seem like they could be hard on family life. I'll definitely keep this in mind when it comes time to make my career decisions.
