I asked this question. Before they used to interview like 30% and accept 80%
Now they interview 30% but only accept 50%.
I personally heard this from Adcom.. so no third party info

Looks you got one.. when did you get it?

Is there anyone who has done their interview in the past two weeks who have already gotten an admit?

It used to be around 30% with 60-70%. Never as high as 80%. Given the range, I would expect they have migrated to 50-60% perhaps to be cautious (I am not sure whether the "an interview is a sure thing" type thought process led to a lot of blowing up).

Bamo - just wait on it. The time it takes doesn't reflect on the decision. Consider it like a court case - when yours gets heard, it gets heard. In the three week time period it is highly unlikely you will migrate from being a Waitlist to an admit, or to a ding. It is clear cut, and will be decided at the point of time it is raised in the meeting. When others are scheduled has little or no bearing.

I just heard a bunch of mixed decisions sent out today. W/L, dings and invites.. I know one person invited for interview. ..

And these will include only people without interviews on the prior catagories, I bet. Simply means an admin has been able to make a dent in the piles of files for response. If I get bored today maybe I will draw a visio. I don't know - maybe because I am so familiar with how it all works and how little psychology or science is involved makes it strange to see how much brain-power is put in by candidates to work out what goes on.

I submitted on 1/15 and just got the follow-up e-mail with a link to NYU's application status check website and information about initial notification dates. In Round 2, the initial notification date is April 1, 2010 for waitlist, rejection, or interview invitation.

That seems kind of late, but hey. Presumably a decision could come considerably earlier. It's all good.

Count me in for Rd2 - still under review - my heart skipped a beat yesterday when I got an email from "NYU Stern MBA Admissions", but it was only the email sending me the link to the Status Check page - submitted on 1/15/2010

As far as I know, Stern is very conscious about Yield rates; They really want students who upon admits WILL join the school. Obviously that happens only 50% of the time.

Yep, seems like they make a point during the interview of asking how you would decide on your school, were you admitted everywhere you applied. My guess is the answer to that question plays a small but important factor in the final interview remarks.

Actually, been spending the last few days refreshing my mailbox every hour but finally got it in the late afternoon, when I least expected it.

Waitlisted (after a great interview). I spent over $7K on the two trips to NYC (one for the visit and one for the interview), and I used 6 days of my vacation time from work. How humiliating.

bamo, i am in the same situation as you are... interviewed on 1/12. i like to believe there is no correlation between the decision and the delay in the response but cannot be sure myself either
