There is still hope. But odd that they would send out the invitations during the weekend though.

I called them and they have an automated message saying something like: Attention R2 applicants - interview invitations for R2 will continue to go out till Mid-March.

They won't update their blog, but they'll put an automated message!

Don't be surprised to see one on a weekend or late at night. If you look at this and other boards, you'll see a few that were sent out over the weekend. In fact, I received mine after 9:00 PM PST on a Saturday. Don't loose hope; it's still far too early for that.

I don't know... I rather know now if I'm getting dinged. Saw some vintage furniture I wanted to buy this weekend if there's no chance I'm moving back to CA. :)

Has anyone had success meeting admissions people at conferences and business school events held at the GSB (not standard info sessions etc.)?

Hey JordinT,

I didn't see myself on the roll call. I'm applying in R2. Thanks!

Great initiative JordinT!!

I seemed to be in the R2 pool twice. I wish that would double my chances of getting in but since it does not you can remove one
entry.

I've noticed that you're a re-applicant this year and with very impressive acceptance record this year. How was your outcome for
the other schools you had applied to last year? And what do you think enabled your application to improve so dramatically? (If you don't mind my asking)

hi all, i updated roll call for recent requests.

in terms of my re-applicant status, i only applied to gsb (ding no interview) and kellogg (ding after interview) last year. in terms of what i think changed/helped:
- better essays: last year I was reluctant/shy about letting others read my essays but this year, I had 1-2 people read each essay. Combination of people who know me really well, people who don’t know me as well (what adcom would be), people who have succeeded in the process and just good writers. I think it takes a while to nail the essay formula down and just because of that, my later apps were better. also I tried to make sure that each thing I wrote had a purpose and said something specific about me.
- Better recommender choice/prep: last year 2 of my recommenders didn’t even finish their letters until the night before they were due and I had to help them (while I was still scrambling to finish my own essays). This year, I gave all my interviewers potential examples to use and themes/qualities that I was highlighting in my essays (hoping they would do the same). I think painting a cohesive and consistent picture is important. Also asked a partner that has a top mba to write me a letter which I think helped, since he knows exactly what they are looking for
- others – got a promotion between now and then. applied to more schools!
- Fyi I did use a consultant for one of the schools… the one I didn’t get an interview/or get into. Not sure how worth it they are.

good luck everyone!
