Hey guys,

I've gone through this thread and don't think my question has yet been asked:

Do any of you know how difficult it is to be accepted in R3? Is it similar to US schools in which it's practically impossible to be accepted?

Thanks!
and congrats to all who have received R2 invites!
and be sure to watch the final days of the Olympics!

I corresponded a lot with a LBS student (who graduated last year) while working on my application and he applied in Round 3 and was obviously successful.

LBS has rounds 3 and 4 - so round 3 is not the end of the world. However, it is still more competitive than rounds 1 and 2.

baxter,

I echo what bsd_lover has remarked about the competitiveness of Stage 3 compared to Stages 1 & 2.

I was speaking with a member of the Admissions Committee last Autumn, and this committee member remarked that while Stage 2 is usually the largest stage in any admissions season, Stage 3 often ends up having more applicants than Stage 1. Conceding that a significant number of spots (speculation on my part) have been awarded to candidates from Stages 1 & 2, and conceding that the Wait-list has swollen meaningfully from these earlier stages, it certainly implies that Stage 3 is fairly competitive.

For what it's worth, the same Admissions Committee member who spoke about the applicant pool sizes of the various stages implied that Stage 3, for some reason, is usually dominated by applicants based in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe.

Hello All,
I just got done with my LBS interview around an hour and a half ago in New York City. I am actually typing this on the bus back to Boston.

Hi Pranav,

Thanks for the great I/v debrief! My interview is on Wednesday, and I'm going over many different scenarios..
BTW, From the other interview debriefs I have seen in R1, and before, It seems a lot of interviewers mention whether they are recommending you or not. Also, some are not so forthcoming about their recommendation.

Did your interviewer give you a heads-up on your chances?

Cheers,
Pranay

Do interviewers for London Business School provide any feedback ? Mine didn't.....although to be fair...I probably also didn't have time to ask, still waiting on a response to my thank you e-mail as well....

On the same note, how important are interviews for London Business School....are they just one aspect of the application process, or a LOT more than that...

My interview is tomorrow - hoping for the best!

testgmattest55 - would it be possible to share your experience of the interview?

Is there a list of the typical questions for the 5-min presentation that anyone could share?

Thanks and all the best.

Is it appropriate to ask the interviewer for feedback, if he/she does not do so voluntarily

I had my interview today and my interviewer specifically said that they are instructed by the school not to give direct feedback on any part of the interviewing process. IMHO, I also think it is generally not a good idea to ask for feedback in interviews. I think the upside (improvement tips for the next interview or positive reinforcement) is grossly outweighed by the downside (perceived lack of confidence or the awkward situation where you actually did poorly). save your questions for intelligent queries about the school, your interviwers background or next steps.
