According to https://www.businessweek.com/bschools/rankings/full_time_mba_profiles/unc.html, 60 from 348 applicants in waiting list got admit later.

So it was about 1 per 6 persons got an admit. (Not sure about stat in this year and some who were in the waitlist may deny to prolong their status since they got other schools.)

Waitlist stats are very decieving actually since a large percentage turns down waitlist for other schools.

What steps did those accepted off the waitlist take? Did you go visit, send updates, retake the gmat?

It depends on what you perceive as a weak part of your app.If you have a low gmat score,take it.If you got a promotion at work,let them know.

Longtime lurker first time poster. I was admitted. Congrats to everyone else who received the good news.

In regards to the financial aid question, I received an email yesterday stating that all students will be contacted by 3/26/10 to let them know whether or not they were awarded a fellowship.
