read that HAAS places a lot of emphasis on campus visit. Is it a must for international students?

My GMAT score is 710 and quant score is 48. Given that 'quantitative proficiency' is clearly mentioned in criteria for admission, how important is a 50+ quant score? Should i re-take the GMAT to improve my quant score?

Taking the GMAT in August - I expect to apply R1 or R2 depending on my score.

48 should be sufficient. I'm not sure what Haas lists as proficient, but Wharton notes:

The total GMAT and GRE score, as well as each section of the test, is evaluated. There are no minimum cut-off scores, though we are concerned about verbal and quantitative section values that fall below the 80% threshold. If you're disappointed with your test score and believe that with additional preparation you could improve your score, then we encourage you to retake the test. We always consider your highest total test score.

I am in for R1.....I had applied last year....although a bit late in R2...no interview calls..anyways..again gunning for haas .......

gmat: 730
work ex: 5 years ( 2 years IT software development, 3 years in technology based business research projects mainly in banking space)

cgpa: very bad (2.7) from reputed global college.....
