On the topic of classes, should you retake Accounting if you plan on recruiting for IB, even if you can waive out of it?

Unless you are a CPA I would take it. Way too important to the job; they will likely press on the topics in interview and it would suck to be rusty.

Accounting for MBA is often a lot more practical than practiced.

yeah, i would definitely take the accounting class. they want to know you're coming out with all the core skills.

banks seem to be keen to start hiring again ... so i am guessing that is slowly feeding downstream across to all schools as better recruitment numbers

Definitely seen a lot more headhunters looking for lateral hires in IB and PE. This past summer recruiting session was extremely competitive in terms of getting the top choices for summer analysts and associates.
