Re: Engineers: Get in Touch [#permalink]
Gil, can you point out any specific common mistakes that engineers tend to make in essays? For example, focusing too much on technical aspects of their jobs, under-emphasizing interpersonal skills, etc?

Re: Introduction [#permalink]
Hello,

Great question. Our experience has shown that some of the most common mistakes include:

1. Not answering exactly what the essay topic requires. This may be either because one has a ready essay (from another school) and is lazy to change it, or sheer oversight.

2. Not being yourself e.g., trying to be humorous when that is not your style. Be yourself - adcoms like originality and can spot it quite easily.

3. Forgetting to change the name of the school when reusing a previous essay.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!
