Excellent idea! Hopefully, this thread can be expanded. For instance, how about a few "runners-up" for the categories listed?

Maybe also a "You're not alone" section, which contains members' venting, frustration, and so forth. One negative observation some people make is that GMATClub is full of super geniuses who were preordained to easily score above a 700. It might be helpful to show that this isn't actually the case. Such a collection might accomplish this by presenting other members with similar problems.

Maybe the "Never Give Up" section already covers this, but what about a "Follow my GMAT Progress" section. I think that Bipolar bear, YourDreamTheater, and gurpreetsingh have interesting threads on this issue.

Another, albeit lamer, category could be labeled "An 800?". There are a few threads on this, but none of them are very helpful; there's nothing else to add on that topic. This category would be more of a preemptive maneuver against future posts on this issue. Instead of repeating ourselves about (a) who scored an 800, (b) the five year rule, and (c) how Stanford dinged a bunch of 800-scorers, we could simply direct the conversation to this collection and lock the thread.

I hope that I'm not imposing myself here. After all, these are just a few fun ideas - some of which might not be very good.

Thank you! Fantastic ideas - I started with quite a few categories but had to scale down as I realized those could not be filled, so I was just looking for some more....

Thanks again for making the suggestions - I have implemented all of them :)
I am thinking I will put the 800 threads at the bottom.

Quick question, however, what were you thinking to put in the "Runners Up" Section?
What criteria would you use?

I absolutely agree about the placement of the 800 threads at the bottom. While those posts don't add much to the discussion, they are kind of interesting (at least at first) and help to make the list more comprehensive. Anyway, if you're interested, here are some:

has-anyone-scored-800-in-gmat-47968.html
what-s-the-highest-score-someone-from-gmatclub-has-received-79136.html
anyone-pulled-800-on-gmatprep-62756.html
stanford-rejects-perfect-scores-of-applicants-92372.html

Again, no pressure to add them.

The "Runners-up" criteria, however, is a bit trickier. I'm a bit hesitant to suggest ways to gauge such threads. I will PM you instead.

Great thread BB. Just a heads-up - My Quant Wake Up Story is linked wrong. Ironic I should say this since it's linked to MY post haha but I thought the poster should get the well deserved credit. I looked it up and was amused when reading because we're both good in math but sucked (at first) at GMAT math, both took a month to prep, both pushed off initial studying due to wedding plans, and it was posted on my birthday. Sorry... my coincidence / superstition thinking getting the better me of again... :)

Thanks for sharing these stories. I have just begun studying for the GMAT and I find these to be very inspirational/motivating. Hopefully when I'm done taking the exam, I too can post up my experience for a future reader.
